Think about how you made her feel
Think about how you hurt her so
Harsh words, like foreordained swords

Why did you hurl them?
Why did you say them?
Why did you cut her down?

You're to blame, you're to blame -
You don't deserve another look from her.

Your unforgivable cruelty
Your heartless thought made verbal,
Made REAL-

But I must have believed what I said.
I must have meant to do it.

Why?

My punishment teaches me so much
but leaves this detail out...

Why torture yourself?
You must let go!
It's just another
Step along the path-

I've walked that road, seen where it leads
Must I sacrifice yet another
Friend to my fire?

Then beg her kindly if she'll take you back,
But keep in mind there's quite a price to pay
When you set foot upon the other path..
