The Rainbow ~~~~~~~~~~~ You and I, through wind and rain, The hurricanes of Life, Two bending trees for all to see Resistant to the strife. Because we know the storm will stop, How soon we cannot say. And when the clouds shed their last drop The sun will show its rays, And make a rainbow in the sky Of orange, green, and blue, A symbol of enduring love Uniting me and you. The rainbow bridge, a colored path Like lights on Christmas trees, Will span across the gaping gorge Of fallibilities. The Rainbow will preserve our love As long as it remains. And when it's gone we'll call upon The memories in our brains Of seven hues swirled in the sky With indigo and red The glowing span will fortify Our love in times of dread. The Rainbow brightly fills our eyes As stars of twilight shine They both enable us to see Their beauty, so divine. Through thunderstorms and hurricanes The Rainbow holds its place Until the clouds give up their rage And dissipate their lace. And so the rainbow wins again The elemental fight And triumphs o'er the cloudy core And basks in its delight. Our love is like that stoic arch Which outlasts every storm. We'll stay as one through sleet or hail. Together we will form A Rainbow of our own.
